Earlier we discussed the benefits of a few different types of self-defense devices. We went over O.C. (pepper) Spray, flashlights, stun guns/tasers and of course; tac pens. We will go over the top three tac pens for personal self-defense and survival. These will be our personal top three favorites for practical use. We already discussed the pros/cons of many different types of tac pens; such as the benefit of having one that isn’t the multi-function type which can lead to poor reliability when needed most. - The top of list gets taken by The Rebel. Made by our affiliate tac pen maker The Atomic Bear. Please keep in mind that we would not be affiliated with them if we didn’t think they deserved the top spot. It has the stylish design that doesn’t make it look like it belongs in a war zone. It has a sharp point for breaking glass and for use in a self-defense situation. 2. The Boker-plus /Multi-Purpose Pen (MPP). Our number two pick for a few simple reasons: its simplicity, superb grip and is constructed as a very solid and useful tac pen. One con we’ll point out when it comes to the MPP is that the point on it is not very sharp. This means that in a self-defense situation; there may be challenges if an attacker is wearing thick clothing or may take extra effort to break through glass. 3. The number three spot is taken by an iconic brand: Smith & Wesson Military & Police Tac Pen. Smith & Wesson is renowned for making quality and reliable firearms so when they decided to make a well constructed tac pen it was kind of a no-brainer for them. Made of high quality aircraft grade aluminum (like many other brands). This is also another good choice for both self-defense and survival situations. The only two cons we see with this particular tac pen is the lack of a sharp point as related to the above section, and price. Being honest here – at $49.99 this isnt a cheap tac-pen and quite honestly; you can find others that are just as well made for about half the cost.
